Fire Prevention Homework
Students need to do three things this week to make sure they are ready if there would be a fire.
1. Decide on a MEETING PLACE outside of the home where the family can meet once they are out of the house.
2. Check the batteries in your smoke detector.
3. Make sure you have a fire extinguisher.

Fire Prevention Week
Firefighters from the Gladbrook and Lincoln fire departments visited our school today. Our kindergarten class got to ride on top of the fire truck. We had so much fun. They even had the sirens going while we were riding.
They also talked to us about fire safety rules. Matt Koester put on his gear so that we could see what a firefighter looked like and sounded like when they go into a fire. We know that we don't need to be afraid just because of the mask and the sound they make when they breath from their air tank.
